THPS3 1.3 Patch... Please READ ALL! Empty
PostSubject: THPS3 1.3 Patch... Please READ ALL!   THPS3 1.3 Patch... Please READ ALL! EmptySun Jun 22, 2008 7:47 pm

This Patch allows you to do many great things... it's not so bugged like normal version..
Just download it, it's better...THPS313_Final.exe (325 KB)

New Tricks/Moves

Double-tap air tricks

Many of THPS3's air tricks now feature double-tap variations, much like THPS4 and onward. Double-tapping (or triple-tapping) the flip or grab button will execute an advanced version of the original trick. Here's a listing of all flip/grab tricks that feature double-tap/triple-tap variations, and what they are:

Flip tricks

Single-tap Double-tap Triple-tap

Varial Kickflip 360 Flip 540 Flip

Varial Heelflip 360 Heelflip

Nosegrab Rocket Air

*denotes new trick for 1.3

Double-tap grind tricks

There is a simple set of extra grind tricks which can be executed as soon as you start a grind. This was first featured in THUG, though this version is simpler. When starting a certain type of grind, pressing the grind button twice will execute a special grind trick. All tail-style grinds will execute the Salad grind, all nose-style grinds will execute Nosegrind to Pivot, and most others will execute the Hurricane.

New air tricks

A few new air tricks have been added to the list of configurable tricks in 1.3. Aside from a few listed in the double-tap menu above, there are a few special grab/flip tricks which appear at the bottom of the list for special air tricks. They are as follows:

Pogo Air

Salute!!!

Shove-it Rewind

Somi Spin

Triple Heel Airwalk

In future updates, more tricks will be added to this list.

Wallieplant/Wallplant

These are both two new moves that are executed during a wallride. The wallieplant, featured in THPS4 and onwards, gives you an air boost from a wallie, much like a Boneless off the ground. The control is the same as well, press up + up + ollie to use it.

The wallplant is similar to the move of the same name which appeared in THUG, but can only be done during a wallride. To execute this, press either left + left + ollie, or right + right + ollie. The left + left control will cause your skater to rotate to the left, and the right + right control will rotate to the right. Use whichever rotation will face you away from the wall you are wallriding for it to work correctly. Holding a spin key during the wallplant will also have an affect on the angle you exit the wall at.

Flips/Rolls

This move was first featured in THUG2, and allows you to combine any flip or grab trick with a flip or side roll. To use it, press one of the d-pad directions twice, along with the revert/switch button (R2), while executing a trick. For instance, to do a backflip, you would press down + down + R2. This setup is more difficult than the THUG2 control setup, however it did not appear to work correctly on THPS3 (it was far too sensitive). Flips and rolls can also be used any time in the air in Luge Mode.

Rail dropdowns

Dropdowns were already featured in 1.2, but have been improved significantly. To fall off a rail when grinding, press either the Switch/Revert button, or Nollie. Switch/Revert will allow you to fall to the right side of a rail, and Nollie will fall off the left side.

When grinding a QP, you can also drop in to the pipe and land or revert. To use this correctly, you must fall off in the direction facing into the pipe. For instance, to drop into a QP to the right side, you must press the Switch/Revert button (R2).

Quickturn

This was also featured in 1.2, but has a new control setup. It allows you to do a quick 180° turn on the ground. Press Down + Down + Spin Right (R1) to execute it.

Bert Slide

This trick allows you to turn sharply as your skater dips very low to the ground. It has appeared in THAW, though my version isn't as advanced. To execute a Bert Slide, press both spin buttons together, either while skating on the ground, or in a manual. Turning will become very easy, but friction with the ground will increase, preventing you from holding a Bert Slide for more than a few seconds.

Note: because of the control setup, all the taunt controls had to be changed as well. They are as follows:

Props: Spin Right + Spin Right + Grind

Who's Your Daddy?: Spin Right + Spin Right + Flip

No Way: Spin Right + Spin Right + Grab

Come Get Some: Spin Right + Spin Right + Ollie

Luge Mode

An expansion of a mini-game type feature found in THPS4, Luge Mode allows you to lie down on your board for more speed. This functions almost like a completely different mode of play, such as walking in the Underground games, though it isn't quite as robust. While in Luge Mode, your maximum speed becomes much faster compared to regular skating, but you have to be more accurate with ollies (you can't do late ollies in midair). Aside from flips and rolls, there are no real air tricks you can use with this mode, though you can get more points by landing perfectly. Landing a very high drop gives you extra points, as well as a speed boost.

Boosters

Though it's technically more of a feature as opposed to a trick, boosters can be enabled in place of certain OB areas, either through THPS3 1.3 level options, or level script mods. Simply put, it gives you an air boost as well as an extra multiplier in a combo. Boosters appeared in THUG2, and worked a little differently. Instead of falling into an area which boosts you, most of the time you had to ollie off a certain platform to get a boost.

New Features

THPS3 1.3 Options menu

Almost all of the new features are found in a new THPS3 1.3 Options menu. There are several submenus to it, which allow you to tweak various level, skater, and physics options while playing. The menu is found as part of the regular pause menu when playing offline. To access it online (or to quickly access it offline), press Flip 3 times while on the ground.

Level tweaking options

There are a few ways you can modify the current level while playing in 1.3. You can change the sky, lighting effects, and fog effects from the THPS3 1.3 Options menu. Lighting effects only affect your skater and other models, not the actual level geometry, so it is best to combine sky, lighting, and fog changes for a convincing effect. If you wanted to make a level appear at night, for instance, you could change the sky to something from Tokyo or Roswell, set black fog, and change the lighting effects to something from a darker level, such as the aforementioned levels.

A few other ways to tweak the level functionality appear in the Skater Options menu, described a little further below.

Physics options

This menu is only available online, and allows you to change the skating physics instantly. Currently, there are only a few premade options, though in the future a more advanced menu may be possible. Many of the options are self-explanatory. Sim Mode already exists as a cheat in THPS3, though this physics mod is more convincing. Note that most of the options can be combined together for different effects, as well as combined with Luge Mode. Any physics changes will be restored when you go online.

Skater options

Though it's more of a miscellaneous set of options, you can toggle skater visibility, as well as change the camera mode, and make changes to the OB areas in any level. "Free Roaming Cam" stops the camera in its current position, and allows you to move it around while playing. To move the camera, hold Cntrl and use the direction keys, and hold Shift to rotate. Pressing the right Spin and Revert keys move the camera up and down. Note that these controls can only be used with the keyboard configuration, so if you have a gamepad, you still have to use the keyboard directions.

At the bottom of the menu are two options relating to Out of Bounds areas in the levels. You can disable them, as well as change them into Boosters (described above). Boosters will only work on above-ground OB areas, and it is recommended to disable OB areas beforehand. Boosters will not add points to your combo, however, instead they will clear your combo as though you had hit the OB area anyway. In that sense, it's worthless, but it is fun to play around with.

Custom restarts

This allows you to save your current position while paused, and return to it later. You must first set a custom restart, then use the "Goto Cust Restart" feature to return to it. This is far from completely functional, however. The angle you face when creating the restart point is not saved, and sometimes large buildings or walls may prevent you from moving to a custom restart. However, it does serve some use, which is why it wasn't scrapped. Future updates may fix these two problems.

Online options

When playing online in 1.3, you can access a secondary online menu. This has a few new options, as well as some which never reached the PC version, such as an observer mode. To access it, press Grab 3 times while skating on the ground. Though most of the menu contains the same options as the regular menu (but in a standard style), an option has been added for the host to toggle slaps on/off. The host can also edit tricks in-game (though the client cannot, for some reason), and both the host and client can change sound options.

All of the new moves will be visible to other players, whether they have 1.3 or not, but executing one of the new special air tricks will cause someone without 1.3 to crash out, as the trick animations aren't loaded on their game. Aside from that, the mod seems to cooperate fairly well with non-1.3 games. You also don't need to have 1.3 to experience collision toggling from a host.

i have had 1.3 patch for about 3weeks and it works fine for me, just buggy in places.

You will notice that you will ride up things you wouldn't normally ride up, and in places such as airport you can stall on places you wouldn't normally stall on.

it works alittle like skate anywhere, and the person who has made 1.3patch has done it this way
